Why It Matters
Significant development in Frontier LLMs reported by Reddit OpenAI Community.
Overview
I've been running into a very frustrating behavior with GPT-5.6 Sol. I give it a concrete objective and enough context. Then I propose an action and ask: "Is this a good idea?" It analyzes it and gives me an answer.
Why It Matters
This development was reported by Reddit OpenAI Community.
Key Details
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
The problem starts when I challenge that answer with something as simple as: "Are you sure?" Very often, it suddenly changes its conclusion and explains why the opposite answer is actually the correct one.
Then I ask again: "Are you sure?" Or: "You're very easy to convince." And it can flip back again.
I've managed to repeat this pattern multiple times in the same conversation: A → B → A → B , with each answer presented confidently and accompanied by a perfectly reasonable-sounding justification.
That's the part I find particularly bad.
